Directions

1. Set “air fry” function to “A3”; set temperature to 325F; set timer to 15 minutes; place cooking basket in the middle of the air fryer when cooking; preheat the air fryer;
2. Bring a pot of water to boil, add plenty of salt to the water;
3. When the water boils, add the macaroni and cook until the macaroni comes to the desired consistency;
4. While pasta is cooking, in a large skillet melt the butter; then add the flour until the mixture is lightly browned; 1-2 minutes;
5. Over medium-high heat add the milk and whisk constantly to remove any lumps of flour or the sauce sticking to the skillet;

6. Add the salt and the black pepper and cook until the mixture begins to bubble; 5-6 minutes;

7. Stir in most of the cheese (save some to use as topping for the air fryer,) and whisk until the cheese has melted;
8. Turn off the heat;
9. When the pasta is done to the desired consistency, drain and add to the cheese sauce pan;
10. Stir the pasta and sauce together and add into a pan (a 2-quart or an 8 x 8 pan).
11. Sprinkle topping(s), sausage, bacon or cheese, on top of the macaroni;
12. Place the pan on the baking pan placed in the middle of the air fryer;
13. Bake for 15 minutes, or until the topping has the desired consistency;
14. Remove onto a rack, let cool for a few minutes before serving.
